WordPress

WordPress is blog builder. It's open source (OSS) software that was actually begun in 2001 and, over the years, thousands of programmers, bloggers and others have updated, modified and expanded WordPress so that today, "you are free to use it for anything from your cat's home page to a Fortune 500 intranet site" with no license fee. (That's good.)

There are too many features to list them all here but there are hundreds of plug-ins developed by users, site owners, webmasters and others so that WebPress has expanded functions beyond any basic blog builder and works transparently with your W3 HOSTING site.

  • Fully compliant with all W3C open standards
  • No need to regenerate static pages when you make changes to a WebPress template
  • WordPress Pages enable you to manage your entire site including non-blog content
  • Cross blog communication tools
  • Built-in spam killer
  • Registration enabled (so users can register and post profiles and other information)

And there are plenty more features – more than any blogger would or should expect from open source software – but that's the strength of the W3 community working in cooperation.

So, if you don't have a blog but you've been thinking about building a blog community, you won't do better than WordPress. And with the W3 HOSTING support line, we're always just a phone call or click away.
