PostNuke

PostNuke is a detail rich content management system (CMS) and site building software and, because it's open source software (OSS) — it's free. It's cool, too.

You don't need to be a coder or tech geek to work PostNuke to the max. It uses templates, pick and click options and a very friendly graphical user interface (GUI) to enable you to build, track and administer an active, commercial site. In fact, PostNuke is extensible (it grows) to meet your site demands.

Anything but stripped down, barebones freeware, just look at some of the features PostNuke offers:

  • Web-based administrator's panel
  • A user registration and security system enabling the webmaster to limit access as needed
  • A long and growing list of HTML-based modules that expands the feature menu of PostNuke
  • An active, large and growing user community with new modular applications being developed all the time. It levels the playing field, allowing anyone to create and administer a fully functional, secure, professional site. And let's not forget the free part. It's still free.
  • WYSIWYG editor (anyone, anyone can use PostNuke out of the box)

PostNuke is a hearty CMS, as well, managing content from inventory to pricing to order status with a click.

The downside? Document and support can be spotty, which shouldn't present a problem given a modicum of HTTP knowledge./p>

Features, a growing user community, modular upgrades, real easy to use and did we mention its OSS as in FREE.

If you're just starting out with your first online venture, PostNuke is a must have from Day 1.
